National History Day

On Saturday, February 29^th,  twenty-three West Springfield students competed at the District Five Virginia History Day competition at Mount Vernon High School. Over eighty projects were entered in the Senior Division this year, and twelve West Springfield students placed in the top three in their category.

The 1^st and 2^nd place projects will progress to the state competition on April 26^th at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture in Richmond, VA. They will compete against the top two projects from each of the eight districts in Virginia for an opportunity to compete at Nationals in June. Good luck and congratulations to all our students!
