West Springfield Students Showcase Their Skills at SkillsUSA Virginia District 5 Contest
Students from Edison Academy's HVAC program recently dominated the SkillsUSA Virginia District 5 contest, earning several first-place finishes and the opportunity to compete at the State Leadership Conference in Roanoke, VA, from April 4-6.
West Springfield High School students were among the top performers, with Fin Brandt securing first place in the HVAC 2 contest and Dominic Nguyen taking the bronze medal in the HVAC contest. The team of Jeremy Ramos and Colin McNamara also took first place in the Entrepreneurship Contest for their innovative business plan, which they will present to the State Leadership Committee in April.
Local industry partners provided essential support by donating materials and serving as judges.
Robert Stringham, HVAC Instructor at Edison Academy, commended the students' hard work and the contributions of industry partners, emphasizing the value of these contests in showcasing student achievement.
