Clubs & Organizations

View the clubs and organizations offered at our school

We believe that participation in the student activities program enriches and expands the regular academic program.  In addition, it provides a way to have fun and be with friends.  From interscholastic sports to music, drama, and debate, activities enrich a student’s high school experience.  The many activities at West Springfield High School reflect the interests and talents of the student body and offer opportunities to the new and old student to make new friends, learn self-discipline, build self-confidence, and develop skills to handle competitive situations.  All activities are sponsored by a faculty member dedicated to the program.

Some special points to remember:

  • Notices of club meetings are typically made on the morning announcements and on the activity calendar on the WSHS webpage. Activities of any organization must be approved by the Director of Student Activities.

  • The following list of student activities is presented as a guide to the extracurricular program at West Springfield High School.  It is as current as possible, but some clubs and organizations may be inactive or have different sponsors or meeting places.  Students should contact the sponsor(s) listed for a given organization for more specific information regarding their events and activities.

  • Please check with the Assistant Director of Student Activities for clubs, Ms. Emily Halstead, if you wish to start an organization.  The first step is to email your idea to Ms. Halstead at @email and Cc the faculty member that will be the sponsor.  You will receive an email response with all of the required forms for starting a new club.  All of the new club application documents must be typed, with the exception of the student interest form, so they should be returned when complete in a reply email.
