Performance in Coursework

Outcomes
  • By June 2025, our SOA MLL science passing rate will be 70% or higher. This will be a substantial increase from our 2023-24 passing rate of 56%.
  • By June 2024-25 the overall average pass rate for all students taking science VA SOL assessment will be at least 95% which is a 5% increase in our present level of performance. 
Strategies
  • INSTRUCTION: Provide regular opportunities for students to reflect on their learning experiences, set goals for growth, and track their progress over time.
  • INSTRUCTION: Strengthen differentiation by designing and implementing effective scaffolds.

Progression to Advanced Coursework

Outcomes
  • By June 2025, our AP/DE or CTE finisher percentage for our students with disabilities will be at least 59% or higher and the percentage for multilanguage learners will be at least 62% or higher.
  • By June 2025, AP/DE or CTE completer courses will have increased to at least 94% by increasing work-based learning experiences and finding ways to offer higher level courses to all students.
Strategies
  • Increase opportunities for students to engage in rigorous and open-ended tasks that require critical and creative thinking.
  • Use Academic and Career Advisory Lessons (available in Schoology).
  • Increase use of Young Scholars wraparound supports in MTSS based on specific needs

School Choice 1

Outcomes
  • By June 2025, will we increase our overall percentage of special education students passing rate in science SOL's or a VDOE equivalent assessment by at least 73% or higher.
Strategies
  • Increase student course success through tier 2 interventions.
  • Increase development of literacy skills and habits across disciplines.
  • Increased remediation opportunities
