- Varsity Tutors (online free tutoring): Fairfax County Public Schools is partnering with Varsity Tutors to provide students and families with extra resources for learning. Every student can take advantage of Varsity Tutors' services, at no cost, including weekly live online classes, on demand 24/7 chat tutoring, essay editing, study resources such as recorded content, practice problems, and diagnostic tests. Tutoring is available in English and Spanish. Visit the FCPS Varsity Tutors webpage for more information and login instructions.
Schoolhouse Tutoring (online free peer tutoring): Founded by Sal Khan, the founder of Khan Academy, this platform offers free online peer tutoring to students around the world as well as free online SAT boot camps.
Interested in volunteering? The platform is also accepting applicants to become a peer tutor and help students around the world!
- Khan Academy (online free study resources): Khan Academy is an online learning platform that can provide personalized learning exercises and helpful video tutorials in math, science, and more! You can everything from 9th grade to AP and college-level courses, as well as free SAT preparation. By signing in with your school FCPS account, Khan Academy can save your progress and suggest personalized practice each time you visit the site.
FCPS Tutor List (in-person paid tutoring): If you would prefer to meet with a tutor in person, the FCPS Family Resource Center keeps an annual list of FCPS licensed teachers who are offering tutoring services. Visit the Family Resource Center webpage to reach out and obtain this year's list.
